New digitally-recorded and masterfully narrated audio review is available for Parts I, II, and III (there are eight cassette tapes and ten audio CD-ROMs in the three-part program). There are five long-play audio cassettes (and six audio CD-ROMs) available for Part IV, Advanced Organizational Management. Users of our cassette program have been thrilled with the content of
material included in the cassettes, its exam relevancy, and especially program ease of use. The new program is even better! Individuals can study while commuting to and from work, at their home or office (while doing other

Part I (CPS and CAP Exams): Office Systems and Technology For Administrative Professionals(TM):
Computer Hardware, Systems, and Configuration: Basic computer-related principles are covered in this area, in addition to
hardware-related terminology, plus a discussion of computer security, hardware, network, and hardware troubleshooting concepts.
Document Layout, Design, and Reproduction: This topic examines the basics of document creation and reproduction processes, including binding, laminating,
duplicating, copying, and other issues relevant to the subject.
Software: This area deals with basic software principles including software useage, installation and configuration, software types, software selection,
software terminology, and software troubleshooting issues.
Managing Physical Resources: This topic deals with basic principles of
physical resources including equipment and supplies, inventorying and storing, usage and maintenance, purchasing, ordering, and receiving. Ergonomics and related topics are also
discussed in this subject.
Part II (CPS and CAP Exams): Office Administration For Administrative Professionals(TM):
Records Management: Various types of filing systems are reviewed in this area including electronic, manual, alphabetical, and other systems. Reference libraries
are also discussed. File management and related issues such as retention, transferring, retrieval, confidentiality, and maintenance are reviewed. Forms management is reviewed, in addition
to filing rules and standards and records security concepts.
Communication: Various communication issues are covered in this topic with an emphasis on their relationship to the communication process in office administration. Verbal and
written communications are reviewed, in addition to a discussion of grammar rules and business etiquette.
Part III (CPS and CAP Exams): Management For Administrative Professionals(TM)
Human Resources: Basic management principles are covered in this section, in addition to concepts relative to employee recruitment and selection (i.e., advertising, interviewing,
reference checking, and testing). Employee evaluation concepts are addressed. Legal and ethical issues such as confidentiality, individual rights, personnel policies, and sexual harassment are
reviewed. Other areas addressed include job analysis, personnel training (i.e., orientation, continuing education, and policies and procedures manuals), compensation and benefits (such as vacation,
sick leave, salary, and investment), and personnel record keeping.
Accounting Procedures and Analysis: Accounting procedures discussed in this section include the preparation of journal entries, bookkeeping, vouching, confidentiality, contracts,
license agreements, leasing, payroll, income taxes, currency, foreign exchange, and international trade. Financial statement analysis issues reviewed include computing and interpreting ratios; and interpretation of the
balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statements is included. The summarization of financial data is also considered. Managerial accounting concepts including budgeting and preparing cost justifications are introduced.
Time Management: Basic time management principles are examined in this topic area (including concepts relative to traditional, current, and trend-based time management applications).
Communication: Management-related communication issues are covered in this topic including nonverbal communications, presentation techniques, professional protocol (i.e., business etiquette and
cultural differences), and legal issues (such as confidentiality, e-mail, and privacy rights).
Part IV (CAP Exam Only): Advanced Organizational Management For Administrative Professionals(TM)
Organizational Planning: Organizational planning issues are covered including critical thinking and decision making, communicating mission
and values in organizations and resource allocation; in addition, overall strategic planning issues are discussed.
Advanced Administration: Topics covered include mentoring and training; conducting research; project coordination; and delegating, empowering, and increasing influence in organizations.
Team Skills: Essentials of team building and team leading are discussed at some length. Group problem solving and
conflict resolution are also covered from a strategy-based perspective. Conducting meetings is also reviewed.
Advanced Communication: Nonverbal communication issues are covered in addition to current concepts relative to presentation
techinques, legal issues in communication, and professional protocol.
